Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic home. The father of Jacqueline's Elroy Fernandez comes from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is Malaysian. Her brothers are younger and a older sister. The family moved to Bahrain during the 1980s because of the Lankan civil unrest and hence her birth and education were in Bahrain. The scholarship she received allowed her to attend an undergraduate program at the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia, after completing her education in Bahrain. She also attended in the Berlitz school of languages which helped her improve on French, Arabic and Spanish. In 2006, she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March, 2006, and was also a contestant for Miss Universe 2006. Following her winning the 2006 Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone made her debut on television and hosted a show about Sri Lankan Business named Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the child of badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. She was a badminton player at the national championships when she was an teen, but she gave her sports career up to become a model. Padukone's native language is Konkani. She is Mangalorean by origin. Her lineage is from Padukone village, which is located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District in the State of Karnataka, India. Prakash Padukone has retired as an international badminton player Her mother, on the other hand, is also a travel agent.
